Lucky Star (らき☆すた) OVA

The long anticipated OVA is finally released after several delays... well it's still better than the second season of "the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱)", which is still no where in sight after two years while Kyoto Animation immediately oks the second season of Clannad (クラナド) within one year...

The first story is told from the perspective of Minami Iwasaki's (岩崎みなみ) dog.

This dog either sleeps or eats and does nothing else...

The big 4 only make cameo appearances in this story.

Yutaka Kobayakawa's (小早川ゆたか) got caught while playing with the dog.

Hiyori Tamura (田村ひより) tries to use the cookies to induce the dog to listen to her commands but she fails badly... ironically, the dog just spits it away after tasting it@@

After all, it's just a very lazy dog.

The second story is about online game which is actually made in 3D! It's much better than looking at Konata Izumi (泉こなた) typing in front of a computer and seeing dialogue on the screen.

While her teammates are fighting, Tsukasa Hiiragi (柊つかさ) chooses to eat meat in order to recover her hp...

... and she doesn't know how to type words in the game and how to allocate her experience points to her character...

Ending poses... who the hell is the guy on the right hand side???

The third story is about Kagami Hiiragi's (柊かがみ) Cinderella dream... Konata cosplays as Yuki Nagato (長門有希) in Kagami's dream.

What a nice pumpkin coach...

Konata moves the entire house to force Kagami to go to the party since Kagami doesn't want to be there at all.

Instead of preparing Kagami's gown, several cosplays are being shown: maids, Miko (巫女), Rin Tosaka (遠坂凛) and Hatsune Miku (初音ミク)^^

Konata's magic wand is broken later and Kagami is forced to go to the party in Hatsune Miku's costume to meet with the prince, Misao Kusakabe (日下部みさお). Anyway, Kagami insists to leave after their short encounter since she knows she has to leave before midnight or the spell would be spoken.

However, she's still too late and Konata asks Kagami to say a spell which consists of weird words to recover her house which is still in the middle of the street after midnight and Kagami wakes up when she does so...

... and is overheard by her sister... what an embarrassing moment...

The fourth story is about a volleyball game. Tsukasa's got beaten while trying to save a play...

... but she does a little bit better after being encouraged by Misao.

But she's still no match to her sister who serves the ball right into her face to punish Tsukasa because Tsukasa witnesses Kagami's embarrass moment in the previous scene...

Tsukasa almost breaks into tears but gets back up and tries to hit for victory...

... but she totally misses it and her team loses in the end.

The fifth story is about the big 4 getting lost in the woods during a outdoor trip.

They cannot use their cell phones because of no signal.

Konata and Tsukasa are amazed by Miyuki Takara's (高良みゆき) method to divide three sandwich cookies equally to four people.

Anyway, they still cannot find their way out in the evening and Konata gets bored and starts telling ghost stories to scare Tsukasa.

Eventually, Konata's phone has signals and rings and they finally get back to the camp and enjoy their meal.

The last scene is extremely weird and I don't know the meaning behind it at all.

The big 4 decides to go to a pet store after school.

And they discover Sgt. Frog (ケロロ軍曹) there. Then things become scary and later they're all turned into frogs?

One extra scene about Meito Anizawa, (兄沢命斗) who meets Konata online and tries to sell her something again but only to realize she's in sleep mode...

Real person lucky channel??? I guess Kyoto animation is getting out of its animation business to produce entertainment shows...

Minoru Shiraishi (白石みのる) is still very ignoring.

When he tries to get some water, he gets exactly what he deserves...

Shiraishi's all wet and tries to dry his wig, clothes and shoes in the remaining time.

Fin.

Comments: I'm pleased with this OVA overall thought many fans may want it be a long story instead of a couple of short stories. If Kyoto continues this format, Lucky Star could be made into multiple OVAs to prolong its popularity.
