The End

大正野球娘。

Thought the girls start playing baseball because of Akiko's pride and temper (which I think it's kind of stupid), they do become a pretty good baseball team in the end and nearly beat their male opponents. Well, the fact that they're so close to a victory is already a great accomplishment for the girls!!! If they really beat the boys, it may be too dramatic. Overall, this anime is quite funny and surprising doesn't provide any services at all with that many female characters in the roster... I don't have great expectation about this anime in the beginning but as the season progresses, it clearly becomes my most favorite anime in the summer season.

咲-Saki-

I think this anime should really end earlier after the group tournament but somehow it's prolonged by several meaningless episodes to finish off the season and it seems that there will be seaons two or OVAs... Though I still don't have any ideas how mahjong is played, it's still pretty exciting to watch them completing at a high level. Besides, maybe the biggest accomplishment of this anime is that it has a very fearful lineup in Saimoe...

CANAAN

Literally, this anime has neither beginning nor end but the fight sequence really saves the show. Otherwise, who whould want to see a confusing story about some crazy bitches in Shanghai (including sister-complex and a mute who loves to have sex with dead bodies)...

東京マグニチュード8.0

Too bad little Yuuki doesn't make it in the end but it's the death of the poor boy makes the ending touching. Whether Yuuki's a ghost or just Mirai's illusion after the eighth episode, he'd always on Mirai's mind and makes her realize the importance of her family. By the way, if it's a happy ending and everyone survives, it won't make this anime special and memorable.

うみものがたり 〜あなたがいてくれたコト〜

"Mina! Aishiteru!" Don't cry, Kanon... if she likes Marin that much, she'd always play the original pachinko game to see her... though they do look very different-_- The overall story is straightforward but it's still a pretty good healing anime.

Phantom 〜Requiem for the Phantom〜

It's almost a happy ending until the Inferno's assassin's last second cheap shot from behind to Reiji... WTF!!! What kind of ending is that??? I don't expect them to live happily ever after but this is just simply unacceptable. It seems that Ein dies, too judged by the way she looks up to the sky as it's said that the purple flower that she touches is poisonous. Well, if Reiji dies, Ein couldn't have the courage to live alone anyway. Even Scythe Master's death is better than the way Reiji's being killed!? By the way, his final six phantoms are so weak... that's why even Cal the psycho could become the best candidate to inherit the title of phantom... This anime is a dark romantic drama with plenty of action sequences and it has a pretty good run but if the ending is better written, I'd like it more.

ファイト一発!充電ちゃん!!

Mahoro: "Ecchi is Bad!!!" Almost all female characters wet themselves when they experience the protagonist long and giant cock bat... Comparing to its erotic predecessor, Queen's Blade, it does have a slightly better storyline but I'm more interested to watch the second season of Queen's Blade...

狼と香辛料II

Not a big fan of this anime but kind of feel that the pace of this season is much slower than the first season... May not watch this series anymore even there's another season...

シャングリ.ラ

"What's otama no kin?" Expectation: A scientific anime with spectacular battle sequences similar to "Last Exile." Reality: A boring story based on Japanese ancient myths, confusing new economy and newhalves... In the end, it's just another anime that neither shines nor disappoints.

宙のまにまに

The storyline is too predictable: recruiting new members - field trip - summer camp - cultural festival - winter camp... and there's nothing special about this anime... maybe the only cool thing about this anime is the flash-telescope trick...

よくわかる現代魔法

The worst anime in the summer. Poor storyline, no climax, confusing jargons, terrible voice-acting, boring characters, little fight sequences, awful op and ed, stupid puppet show as commercial... Omg, why didn't I drop this one earlier?

Rude Customer (Original Title: 元朗聯興行不知所謂)

This video is about a woman who claimed to be treated poorly by the pictured short store manager, Freddy Wong, when she questioned the price differences of a bathroom sink showcased in different stores of the same chain located at two locations (One in Yuen Long and the other one in Mong Kok). She believed that Mr. Wong'd called the Mong Kok store after he realized his price's higher and subsequently asked the other store to increase its price. That's the reason why she videotaped her confrontation with the manager and uploaded it to youtube afterward…

Well, you have a right as a customer to voice your complaint but is it how you do it by disclosing private information without other people's consent on the Internet? It seems that Mr. Wong's nice enough not to ignore or call the police. In addition, is a price difference of HKD $17.5 such a big deal that you have to escalate the matter? The customer is always right but that doesn't mean you can disrespect people. Well, it's said that she's already apologized and hoped this thing could come to an end as she's viewed negatively in the public and even her life was seriously affected by the unauthorized releases of her personal information by hackers/cyberstalkers on the web but there's also rumor that Mr. Wong's fired after the video's posted. In the end, she couldn't blame anyone except herself as she's the one who started this mess…(By the way, she really sounds like a bitch and I couldn't stand her voice!!!)

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) 24

Shamisen's finally introduced in the anime formally.

Mikuru continues to evolve as an deadly weapon when shooting resumes.

The three are all here for different reasons and tries to get Kyon on their sides. So who's telling the truth or the truth is they're all lying? In order to maintain the status quo, Kyon does convince Haruhi to add a disclaimer saying the film is a work of fiction during the credits and then the world's back to normal.

The film is still a work-in-progress the night before the Cultural Festival. Well, the good news is Haruhi wants to help and doesn't just go home...

... but maybe her only help is to be quiet...

In the end, the film somehow edits itself and then Kyoto just recycles the prologue of the PSP game to kill time end the story...

Comments: Technically, there're only seven and a half new episodes if all the duplicate episodes in the "Endless Eight" aren't count and I can only say that Kyoto does a very nice job in squeezing the salvage value out of the first three novels...

Have a Good (One-Day) Weekend

If I knew that I had to work overtime on Saturday, I'd rather have a normal two-day weekend last week instead of a long weekend. But it's inevitable since we're already one man down. Everything sucked and people got extremely annoying when the extension deadline's approaching...

P.S. Just watched it hours ago... What a shot!!!

Derren Brown: Predicting Lottery Numbers

The magic was boring and 50 percent of what he said in the beginning was crap. Plus, the so-called explanation on Friday was a total waste of time... If he showed the numbers first (however, he claimed it's illegal to do so) or stood right behind or next to the rack, that would clear all the accusations of using split-camera. By the way, the facts that no live audience presented and a ridiculously shaky camera just made it more like a con.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) 23

The scene of the third day of filming is a pool near Itsuki's home.

Another contact !? which means Yuki needs to throw Mikuru down one more time...

The contact's missing once again and Haruhi just finds another way to abuse poor Mikuru by throwing her into the pool... and you know what!? Nobody feels this is wrong except Kyon and even Mikuru's best friend, Tsuruya, accomplices...

After the pool scene, Tsuruya brings the crew to her house in which inspires Haruhi the next scene of the film, intimate bed scene between Mikuru and Itsuki...

Then, Kyon ifinds out that Mikuru's drugged by Haruhi and this clearly crosses the line to him...

After all the bullies that Mikuru's gone through during the filming, Kyon cannot hold back anymore and he'd have slapped Haruhi if Itsuki and Mikuru don't stop him.

Haruhi's depressed afterward since she always thought Kyon's on her side no matter what she does...

Well, in the end, Kyon realizes that although Haruhi's been filming the movie recklessly, her true intention is to make a good movie and have a meaningful cultural festival. On the contrary, Kyon only complains and doesn't have any expectation whatsoever. So he later shows Haruhi his determination to make this movie successful and then apology accepted.

Comments: Pony-tailed Haruhi!!!

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) 22

Why Mikuru's so scared? Because it's Yuki's turn to attack...

Then the next scene is about flying pigeons (John Woo?) which is totally unrelated to the previous one.

Though the BB guns aren't real firearms, it's hard for me to believe that Haruhi'd really use them to shoot an old man who is trying to escort them out of the shrine.

During lunch break. Mikuru's once again wasted and doesn't eat anything...

In the afternoon, Haruhi isn't satisfy with the morning battle sequence and decides to re-shoot it.

Since there isn't a script at all, the actresses really don't know what to do, and Haruhi starts to feel impatient and makes unreasonable demand like asking Mikuru to fire laser beams from her eyes.

Kyon's angered by the misbehaved Haruhi and promptly separates them. After that, Haruhi claims she knows what she's doing and comes up with an idea of "Mikuru Bean," which is fired from Mikuru's left blue eye as the battle actress' major weapon.

Unfortunately, Haruhi confuses the movie story with the real world and unconsciously makes it a realty. As a result, there's actually a laser beam firing from Mikuru's eye and nearly kills Kyon if Yuki doesn't block the beam bare hand.

Yuki wastes no time and jumps on Mikuru at once to remove her contact before more damage can be done.

After the contact is gone, Haruhi alters the story dramatically in which Mikuru'd only turn into a waitress during a battle while she wears her bunny girl costume when there's no fights...

The rest of day becomes the filming of Mikuru's IV...

Finally, the first full filming day ends but they have to regroup the next day orz...

... and they're not alone as more people join them...

Comments: The whole filming without a script sounds like a joke but in order to make the spolied goddess happy, they have to suck it up. Sigh~
