Another One Bites the Dust

Another co-worker quitted this week which left only three staff including me in our department and I felt that It's gonna happened for a long time as I'd sensed that she didn't want to stay. As a result, all the staff that joined the firm last year were gone within a year except me. This wasn't really a good sign at all since people in this firm seemed to always come and go for years. When being asked whether I'd stay in the firm longer, I'd say thing like "it's hard to determine now, which translated, ' just leave me alone, bitch!'" Well, the truth… who knows. Thanks for the untimely leave. Workload increased from one-fourth to on-third and the extension deadline was approaching. Plus, I needed to train the new part-time worker so I was busy last week and it sucked. If somebody quitted again next time, please chose June or July in which nobody cared if one showed up for work.

P.S. A week after the A/C installation but it's only been on for three days because the temperature cooled off a little bit… When the A/C was on, it's kind of noisy so I couldn't go to bed without earplugs. However, even if it's off, I couldn't sleep well either because it's raining outside and the raindrops hit the frame of the A/C all the time. So why the hell I brought the A/C in the first place?

Unassisted Triple Play

http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=6256159&topic_id=4096448

Starting lineup in the DL, getting shut out regularly, batters' inability to hit home runs, dropping a routine pop-up, scary hit by pitch in Wright's head, having starting pitcher giving multiple runs in the first inning and closer blowing consecutive saves in the ninth and now what? Unassisted walk-off triple play!? Just wondering if the mess Mets are cursed in their new ballpark New Shea Stadium Citifield...

Last Minute A/C Shopping

We haven't have any kind of air conditioning since we came here and we've been fine with that because we used to live in basement and it's cool (but humid) down there. And when we moved in June, we still didn't feel the needs to install air conditioning since the early part of the summer was unusually cool. However, we definitely felt the heat (and humid again) the last couple days when the temperature went up to 90's and it's always like ten degrees hotter in the house. After multiple nights of sweating like crazy in hell, we all came to a unanimous decision to install air conditioners in our bedrooms so we'd sleep comfortably at nights. At first, we wanted to buy the cheapest one available in the market, which would be the 5,000 BTU and cost ranging from $99-120. But later, we figured out that our rooms were a little bit bigger and would need at least 6,000 to 8,000 BTU. After we did some research, we originally would like to buy it online. But the wait could be too long so we decided to go around the neighborhood and tried to find one in an appliance store. Nonetheless, the hunt was unsuccessful as only one store carried the items but they're old and damaged. Then my father suggested that we went to Home Depot so we checked online and thought that there might be one suitable. However, when we went to the store, the staff told us that air conditioners were already sold out and we might need to wait until the next summer. They also said that we'd buy it online (out of stock when we checked later) or went to another store which might still have a few left (Good: They still had air conditioners when we got to the other store. Bad: They're all over 10,000 BTU orz). Therefore, the first day of A/C shopping was extremely frustrated and fruitless. The next day, my father took me to a store which was located near to his work place. Before we went, we called to make sure they had air conditioners because we're very determined to buy at that point and didn't want to come back empty-handed again. We did buy the A/Cs this time and quickly installed them in our rooms (though the installation was trickier than I thought). When we switched on the machine and felt the breeze, it's literally the coolest thing we've ever done but would there be regrets after we received our electric bills? Who knows?

However, the performance is dreadful when they aren't lip syncing.

Call for Jury Duty

I've been on the telephone standby list starting from last Friday. Though I've wished not to be selected, I was unfortunately asked to report on Thursday, the last day I had to call and the other unselected standby jurors would be released… so unlucky… Therefore, I asked for a day off and went to the court room on Friday's morning. About 100 people had already showed up and later we had a little bit of orientation, in which we prepared our juror IDs and filled in juror questionnaires. I was being told that there would be panels and potential jurors would be interviewed by the lawyers to determine whether they'd be selected. If one wasn't selected, s/he would report back to the waiting room until the next panels. Technically, the process should end at five and further notice would be given whether we needed to come back on Monday. After that, the jurors for the first panel of the day were called and then my name was unfortunately on the list -_-b So approximately twenty people including me went upstairs to a room where we met two lawyers who gave us a quick briefing of the case. Nobody told me if I'd keep the details confidential but I just decide to skip it. It's like some kind of summary judgment in which the defendant's already admitted guilty and the responsibility of the jury was to decide the amount of compensation the plaintiff should get. Then, our names were randomly selected and six people were picked. Since the lawyers were in some kind of time limits and actually inspected by spies representatives sent by the judges…, they really did the interview really quick so after a while, the people other than the six lucky ones were told to go back to the waiting room, where I waited and did nothing for another two to three hours. (They were showing a movie but I paid no attention to that and chose to read and actually finished a book during that period…) Minutes before one o'clock, the scheduled lunch break, the staff came back with some letters and you know what! They're the certificates of services, which would prove one's presented for his/her jury duty and would excuse him/her from that particular duty for the next six years. This was of course the sole purpose for us to come there and we're all so eager to know who the lucky ones were. Then the truth was that the people who got called for the first panel were the ones who got the certificates and I was just so excited that I was on the list for the first time that day. It's worth to stay there four and half hours in exchange of relief of jury duty for the next six years. Yeah~

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) 19

Endless eight really ends at the eighth episode... Fortunately, it doesn't end at the end of August! Well, for the last three episodes, I just skip to the last few minutes and stop immediately when Kyon doesn't touch his homework... and you know what? The key to end this loop is that Kyon has to finish his homework before the school starts!? This is so pathetic!? 8 episodes 4 dvds... what a profiteer orz...

Kemono no Souja Erin (獣の奏者エリン) 31

Just when I've thought the OP, Shizuku (雫) by Sukima Switch (スキマスイッチ) , would never be changed, it's then modified and sung by Chitose Hajime (元ちとせ). It immediately sounds like a folk song, and makes me feel sad and creepy... a huge contrary to Sukima Switch's version, which is light-hearted and warm.

Finally, the mysterious guy takes away his mask and spies for 血と穢れ as a teacher named Kiriku.

Four years gone by and most of the characters get mature except...

... Erin's roommate, Yuyan!?

You jump! I jump! This is unbelivable and they're really bound together. After the loss of her mother and John, Erin wouldn't let Liran die alone...

... but both of them are safe as Liran finally could spread her wings and fly in the sky! (waiting for this scene for like 12-13 episodes!)
