I've been waiting for nearly two months for my scores on my last exam to come out and I checked the results tonight expecting the worst to happen. In my last entry, I literally thought I fuck up my exam and guess what? I scored the highest in that part among the four exams. My average was right around 80 and those numbers weren't pretty. But passing all of them in four months and on my first tries just made me feel very very good right now. Finally, I won't need to worry about going back to study mode afterwards and could really relax after the busy season is over. Yeah~

BIO 101

After the massacre last Friday, we've never seen a mouse being caught in the sticky traps again… until today. I knew that the mice would become smarter and tried to avoid the mousetraps from now on. As a matter of fact, it seemed that some mice had no fear at all and just ran across our desks in daytime. Anyway, this morning another mouse was trapped but this time on a piece of old sticky sheet which was stuck under a garbage can accidentally and hasn't been removed for a long time. Apparently, it still worked and didn't lose any of its stickiness. Similar to last time, the mouse was alive kicking its legs and tried to escape, and once again, we covered a "coffin cover" i.e. another mousetrap on it. But here came the question as the old mousetrap was stuck to the garbage can so tight that we couldn't remove it. We tried to put the sandwiched mouse inside a large envelope and placed it on the floor. Then we stepped on the envelope and pulled the garbage can in hope of unsticking the old mousetrap. Yes, we succeeded and something was being separated… the mouse body… We actually separated the "coffin cover" with the majority of the mouse from the old sticky sheet in which the mouse's left hand and leg remained on it. What the hell!? At last, we needed to put another piece of paper over the old sheet and did the same thing again to remove it. It's disgusting and sucked. The only thing I could assure was that that this mouse was either dead or at least disabled and definitely couldn't flee from any garbage bag we put it into…

P.S. Seriously, the mouse wasn't scary. Your scream was more frightening to me!

Tom Renney is Fired Finally and Inevitably

After Rangers lost to Maple Leafs last night in overtime, my reaction was that Renney was going to be fired. And it came true today as he was replaced by John Tortorella as the head coach. Anyway, I don't think this coaching change could really save the season since Glen Sather, the person who is responsible for this mess, is still in the office. Gomez, Drury, Redden, Naslund... you can name how many high-priced, overrated players he acquired over the last two years while letting go of Jagr, Shanahan whom either of them should be kept to build the franchise around. Please fire Sather immediately! This guy has done nothing but ruining the team. Sather is likely to share the honor with Isiah Thomas of being "the worst GM" in Madison Square Garden's history. It's too bad that Renney has to take the blame and hope he would coach again somewhere else. Good luck!

Even Ryan Miller was injured, Rangers still lost to Sabres and is now in the eighth place (actually, it's a three-way tie between the sixth, seventh and eighth places), trailing by the Hurricanes and Penguins by three and four points respectively. During this 2-6-2 streak, they could only manage to beat the Islanders in regulation time... so embarrassing... I guess New Yorkers have already got one joke at Madison Square Garden and it won't suck too bad to add another one!?

Got Company

Today, we discovered that ten little mice were trapped in sticky mouse traps which were placed on several locations in the office last night. It seemed that five traps with baits were set: three big and two small and at the end, two of the three big ones caught eight (four each) and the remaining one was empty (Ok, we'll recycle it…) while one of the two small ones got two and the other one was faced up-side-down, assuming whatever caught in there got out successfully. What a great and economical attempt to eliminate the rat problems in the office. Well, the scene was actually pretty funny/scary as of course they were still alive and moving their legs trying to escape. Some of them pulled so hard that they almost tore their bodies apart. The funny part of the story was that when a girl discovered the first trap with mice on it, she screamed so loud and ran away quickly. No girl wanted to get near to it so the men needed to take care of it (I didn't know what would happen if one accidentally stuck his/her finger on the trap…). Actually, we covered another trap on top of the mice so they could not escape (sound like a coffin…) and then put the traps inside a garbage bag. Later, our coward boss actually stepped up on the bag to make sure her mice sandwiches were ready all of them were dead. A little bit of crazy start for a day but things got back to normal after the bodies were disposed.

P.s. Due to some poor scheduling, I actually had to go to work seven days a week this week and it sucked so bad~ I was so wasted now…

Goal of the Year

This is definitely the best goal so far and it's so funny at first to see Hagman get checked by the ref, kneed in the head and then get a puck in the face. But the end result is so great as he activates the god mode and dekes pass four skaters to score.

Rangers never failed to disappoint their fans during their four-game losing streak (scoring only six goals and giving up 17 goals to the opponents). First, they gave up five third-period goals to the Penguins. Then they've got shut out by a rookie goalie and nearly got shut out on Adam Grave's night while facing the Trashers, one of the worst teams in the league. When you think nothing could top these performances, Rangers allowed double-figure goals and six third-period goals (Yeah that's right! It equaled to the numbers of goals Rangers scored in four games) to the Stars last night. The only good thing about this game was that I stopped watching after the second period and successfully avoided the six-goal embarrassment. Somehow, Rangers are still in the fifth position but the eight-seeded Panthers are only trailing by five points. If the playoff started now, I don't think Rangers have any chance to beat any of the top-seeded teams. However, if Rangers keep fooling around like this, this concern would certainly go away since they might not even have a chance to face them by failing to get into the playoff…

2009 Winter New Anime 3

Trying to wrap up this topic. I've just decided to drop アキカン！ (diminishing quality + very annoying character voice) and 宇宙をかける少女 (falling asleep while watching... automatically death sentence). But it won't decrease the quantity I'm watching this winter since two more new animes are added to the lineup...

At first, I've thought that this time the skirt is really short...


... but actually Kyoto uses the same footage from the OVAs for the TV series so the uniform is still below the knees... (Too bad... the excitement only lasts less than three minutes... plus I've spent two hours watching the OVAs prior this TV series thinking it'd be a continuation of the OVAs...)


源氏物語千年紀


The best new anime this winter though the OP is really odd. Before watching it, I've only read one chapter of Genji Monogatari and this anime certainly makes me want to pick up the original classic again.
