Kannagi (かんなぎ) 01

Kannagi (かんなぎ) is definitely the biggest surprise this fall season as nobody expects it to be that great (It's kind of like Minami-ke みなみけ last year). Before Kannagi, I've only watched one A-1 Pictures's anime which is Persona -trinity soul- (ペルソナ 〜トリニティ・ソウル〜). Though the artwork of Persona was great throughout the season, I've had a hard time to understand it and it's been a miracle for me to finish all 26 episodes. Anyway, Kannagi makes me feel like a production by Kyoto Animation. Maybe it's because the director of the anime is Yutaka Yamamoto, (山本寛) who is most famous for "the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱)."

A little prologue in the beginning: The lead male and female protagonists met before when the male protagonist's still a boy.

The OP: iDOLM@STER?

This intertitle scene is so "Haruhi..."

I only start to get the meaning of the op in the fourth episode after all the characters are introduced.

This is like the third time I've seen Haruka Tomatsu (戸松遥) in the lead roles this year. Man, she must be popular now!

So the male protagonist, Jin Mikuriya (御厨仁), crafts a wooden statue at home for an art project, and suddenly it grows in size and turns into a girl (Monkey King!?)

The girl, Nagi (ナギ), claims that she's a deity of a sacred tree but later finds out the tree is being cut down...

Well, I don't think Jin's anything to do with your tree...

Crying after learning the truth... Poor Nagi><
Nagi's mission is to cleanse the impurities of the world but her power weakens after the tree is cut down.

Wow, I've thought Jin just saves your life!?

Anyway, Jin just takes her home and allows her to stay.

It's the moment Jin realizes he's never been alone with a girl at home...

To break this moment of silence and embarrassment, Jin turns on the TV to view the wrong show. Luckily, Nagi doesn't see it but instead watch a cartoon about magical girls.

That inspires her to make a magical girl-themed staff...

Well, it's childish but it really works.

Nagi's so cute and doesn't look like a deity at all.

Another h scene moment?

Jin tries to hide her erotic magazines by writing the word "school books" on the box... nice job...

The look of the cashier is so funny as Jin's trying to buy an underwear for himself Nagi.

The Full Monty by Jin... nice ass...

The ed is really old-fashioned and is also sang by Haruka Tomatsu.

Comments: I absolutely love this anime and I may post the remaining episodes during the week.

After Another Exam

I just finished another exam today and I'm exhausted now. The next one will be within a month so I could relax a little bit over the weekend. Anyway, things didn't go well today. First of all, I was late by 15 minutes because of the stupid subways. I had to transfer to the shuffle train at one station (not the usual way in which you could get off and get on at the same platform but to get off and go down the stairs and then go back up to the other platform><~ The train's gone when I got to the platform. This delay cost me 20 minutes and I had to run to the exam center after getting off the train at Grand Central. Anyway, I was allowed to take the exam so I really didn't need to panic at all... Second, I totally had no clue on one of the long questions and just guessed in the final part of the exam so I wasn't sure what I would get after all... Third, the weather was really bad after the exam and I missed the train again when I went home (twice in a row on the same day...) I hope this series of unfortunate events wouldn't continue tomorrow.

CLANNAD 〜AFTER STORY〜 04

In the beginning, Mei begs the soccer club to allow her brother to play again but they won't agree since they had a big fight in the past.

"Got milk ?"

Evidence of child abuse #1: Hitting a girl with a soccer ball intentionally.

Evidence of child abuse #2: Making a girl cry.

Evidence of child abuse #3: Torture!? Those players are absolute garbage!!! What the hell they are thinking about? Trying to be men by picking on a little girl? They should all be banned from playing soccer because of their unclass action.

Great kick! Sunohara finally shows up to protect his sister. Well in the end, in order to make Sunohara who he used to be in the past, the quickest way for Mei is to get herself into trouble so he would come and protect her (like a superhero)...

After the brawl with the soccer club, Tomoya and Sunohara have their own fight in the rain to clear the misunderstanding between them. Ultimately, Sunohara admits that he cares about Mei and doesn't feel anything wrong if Tomoya and Mei are really going to be together since he trusts him complete and is comfortable to let him to take care of his sister. (Fist is the best way to let the truth out...)

I'm not surprised by the bruise on Tomoya's face. I just can't believe Nagisa doesn't get sick after laboring all day and getting wet in the rain the day before...

In the final scene, unaware of the fact that Sanae is Akio's wife, Sunohara proposes to him and immediately has to run after knowing the truth...

"With the Same Smile as That Day"

The story shifts to Misae Sagara (相楽美佐枝) next.

Comments: So far, the second season is like a continuation of the first season by telling the stories of all the secondary characters. So it's really not after story but minor story-_-
